
WHO THEY ARE​

Hiring Our Heroes (HOH), an initiative of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, is a program dedicated to helping veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses find employment across the United States. The organization has helped more than 28,000 veterans and spouses find jobs through their events, with 505,000 confirmed hires through their corporate partners.

Hiring Our Heroes has an assortment of resources designed for veterans, spouses, and employers alike. These digital programs include: Resume Engine, Career Spark, Virtual Job Scout, Employer Roadmap, Fast Track, and All Vet States. Each of these resources aim to make the hiring process smoother for both transitioning military families and invested employers.
ROLE AS SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN​

In my role as intern, I was in charge of creating content for each of HOH's social media platforms. To start, I built a rough social media plan using Google Sheets, with a time span of June through December of 2016. The content of each post focused on HOH's digital programs, as well as military holidays. Additionally, I created posts highlighting upcoming hiring events and designed graphics for the KISS Freedom to Rock Tour. For the design elements I utilized Canva, while TweetDeck and Facebook were used to schedule each post months in advance. The goal of my internship was to increase awareness of HOH's digital/hiring programs and engagement with social media users.
